Captain Darrell Watt was a highly decorated and legendary soldier in the Rhodesian Bush War (1964-1979). He is the central figure in the biography A Handful of Hard Men: The SAS and the Battle for Rhodesia, written by Hannes Wessels.

Military Service: He served with distinction in several Rhodesian forces, including the Grey Scouts, the Rhodesian Light Infantry (RLI), and ultimately the Rhodesian SAS. He was widely considered an exceptional combat-tracker and special operations expert.
Battles and Legacy: Watt performed in almost every imaginable fighting role, including airborne assaults, long-range reconnaissance, and sabotage operations. He fought fiercely until the end of the war, winning many battles but ultimately losing the war when Rhodesia transitioned to Zimbabwe.
Post-War Life: After the war, he reportedly dedicated his later years to wildlife conservation in Africa
