Angola’s military, specifically the Air Force (FAP), operated Fokker F-27s, primarily the F-27 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) variant for coastal surveillance and reconnaissance during the late Cold War era, with one F-27M-200 MPA entering service around 1980, used to help acquire newer Embraer EMB-111s. Angola also acquired other F-27 variants, like the F-27-200, for transport, though these were later supplemented or replaced by other aircraft like the C-295.
The F-27 Maritime was key for naval/maritime surveillance, providing coastal patrol and reconnaissance.
