1984-01 joined Special Force HQ as Recruit with rank of Rifleman - Called up to Swartkoppark VTH for SF Pre-Selection

1984-02 joined 3 South African Infantry Battalion C Coy 3rd Platoon with rank of Rifleman - Was sent to 3 SAI in Potchefstroom after failing SF Selection. Completed Basic Training at 3SAI then was recruited by the RSM to complete Driver and Regimental Police Courses as preparation for being sent to the Operational Area to look after POW's

1984-05 joined Sector 10 HQ KG Hokke as RP with rank of Rifleman - Spent 18 months at the 'KG Hokke' (POW Interrogation Centre} at Oshakati under Lt. H.C. 'Chris' Nel. We operated 4 x Casspir MPV's in support of Koevoet and 101Bn Romeo Mike Teams providing intel and support in various operations.</br></br> Our team call sign was Charlie November, and our teams consisted entirely of turned terrs. Sadly our Casspirs were later transferred to COMOPS.
