Start of Operation Seiljag 1. – The first shots of Operation Seiljag 1 were fired when a 32 Battalion platoon spotted a group of SWAPO at a waterhole on the edge of Chana Onaimbungu, 3 km south of the border. The fleeing insurgents accidentally walked into the temporary base of another 32 Battalion platoon during which 6 were killed.
