Life before going to the Army 1984… As teenagers, we spent our holidays and weekends in our own self made private army in Marina Da Gama, near Muizenberg. Me and my school buds in the MAF (Marine Amphibious Force) early 80’s.

I went into Special Forces Selection at Swartkoppark VTH, Jan 84 (failed), then 3SAI then spent 18 months at Oshakati in Sector 10 Intelligence (KG Hokke) in the Operational Area, Sean went to the Navy (I think Weapons Smith), Karl to the Marines, then Recce, then SAS. My brother Nic to 8SAI, and Brendan Rack …. no clue
