Zulu Force inflicts bloody defeat on FAPLA – Cubans north of 'Bridge 14', killing up to 400 FAPLA and Cuban troops and advancing as far as the Catofe river. They are prevented from going further, however, and eventually withdraw to Santa Comba (Uaco Cungo)
