23 Mar 1988 Vimposto-Chambinga	An infantry assault during Operation Hooper sees the 32 Battalion rifle companies debus at Vimposto, advancing on foot towards the floodplain riparian to the Chambinga River some 45-km from the FAPLA front line. The infantry cross the floodplain in single file, knee deep in mud. It takes 90 minutes for 250 men to make the crossing in single file, spread over two kilometres and highly vulnerable. The soldiers wait in the tree line until nightfall, when they march on foot until they reach a position 3-km south of FAPLA 25 Brigade	38
23 Mar 1986 Concor	On 23 March 1986 the Concor base was attacked by 20 x PLAN insurgents	40
23 Mar 1980	SAAF Impala Mk.II (#1050) piloted by Capt.Smal crashes whilst on a mission over Angola due to loss of power. Pilot ejected at low level and was recovered safely.	46
